INTRODUCTION :
GANDHI SEVASHRAM ISWARLAL SISHU BHAWAN is a pioneer socio-educational and cultural institution in Jaleswar block of Baleshwar district. It was established in 1979 and was registered in 1980. The freedom fighters of those days who remained above politics, assembled to serve the country and a child care institution started with their efforts. The institution is getting funds from donations given by the working committee members, various philanthropists, as well as getting grant-in-aid from the centrally sponsored scheme of Mission Vatsalya. This institution is supervised by the Department of Women & Child Welfare, Govt. of Odisha. The institution is a full fledged organisation and it has grown to the level of social academic organisation, undertaking mass literacy programme for the children who are poor & down trodden section of the society and also deprived of social justice. It seeks to build a self-brilliant society through awareness building, education and multifarious development activities.
ORGANISATION OBJECTIVES:
Gandhi Sevashram Iswarlal Sishu Bhawan is a Gandhian idealist orphanage & educational development organisation aiming towards a social educational and economic change in the society. Sevashram will do to roster the spirit & practice of constructive works on the basis of Gandhian philosophy and Sarvoday thought, and works for the establishment of social order based on non-violence, equality and social justice.
The objective of Sevashram
- Welfare of the orphan and destitute children
- To develop charities for the purpose of imparting education to orphan and poverty stricken children
- Accommodation, food, clothing and other necessities of the life for orphan and destitute children
- Educationally empower the under privileged children
- Rehabilitation programme through adoptions
